The SaltCure app was developed by mordanSoft ("we", "us", the "Service Provider"). The app is available in a free version and a premium version with additional features provided through a subscription or one-time purchase, for Android and iPhone devices. This SERVICE is provided "as is" and is intended for use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
This page informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when using the Service. By choosing to use the free or premium version of the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We will not use or share your information with third parties except as described here.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Use unless otherwise defined here.
Privacy at a Glance
- SaltCure is offline-first. Your batches, recipes, and notes are stored locally on your device.
- We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- Limited, mostly anonymized data is used to keep the app working, process purchases, and fix crashes.
Information Collection and Use
The content you create in the app — meat weights, batch logs, recipes, reminders, and notes — is stored on your device. If you use an optional backup or export feature, this data may be stored through your device's platform account (Google or Apple) under their respective policies.
To operate and improve the app, third-party services used by the app may automatically collect certain technical information, which may include:
- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address;
- Device model and operating system version;
- App configuration, features used, and time and date of use;
- Diagnostic and crash information.
Third-Party Services

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the app. These third parties are obligated to maintain confidentiality and not to use the data for purposes other than those we assign to them.
Log Data
In the case of errors in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) called Log Data. This may include your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, the date and time of use, and other statistics.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Service does not directly use cookies. Third-party SDKs used by the app may use identifiers or similar technologies to support functionality and analytics. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
Premium Version and Subscription
The premium version provides access to additional features via a subscription or one-time purchase. Payment processing is handled through third-party platforms such as Google Play and the Apple App Store, and subscription status is managed via Adapty. These providers may collect data in accordance with their privacy policies. We do not store your payment card data directly.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by us, and you may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at mordansoft@gmail.com. Because most of your content lives locally on your device, you can also delete it directly in the app or by uninstalling the app.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. International Data Transfers
We or our third-party service providers may transfer personal data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use appropriate mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, adequacy decisions, or your consent where required.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here:
- Content you create: retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Automatically collected diagnostic data: retained for up to 24 months from collection, unless longer retention is required by law.
- Aggregated and anonymized data: retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop further collection of information by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling stops the app from collecting data from your device, but it does not automatically delete information already transmitted to third-party services. To request deletion, contact us at mordansoft@gmail.com.
Security
We value your trust and strive to use commercially reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including, where required, information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy with a new effective date. This policy is effective as of 2026-09-04.
