Welcome to SaltCure! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the SaltCure application ("Application") developed by mordanSoft. By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.
1. Food Safety Disclaimer — Please Read
SaltCure is an informational and reference tool for home meat curing and drying. It is not a substitute for professional food-safety advice, and mordanSoft is not a food-safety authority.
- The Application's calculations for salt, sugar, and curing salt (including nitrite and nitrate) are provided for general reference and are based on publicly available guidance, including USDA/FSIS materials.
- Curing salts contain sodium nitrite and/or nitrate, which can be harmful or fatal if misused. Insufficient curing may allow harmful bacteria, including Clostridium botulinum, to grow.
- You are solely responsible for verifying weights, ingredients, temperatures, hygiene, and safe food-handling practices, and for the final product you create and consume.
- The Application does not know your specific ingredients, equipment, meat quality, or storage conditions, and cannot guarantee a safe result.
- Always follow the instructions of your curing-salt manufacturer and applicable local food-safety regulations. If in doubt, consult a qualified professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, mordanSoft accepts no liability for illness, injury, spoilage, or loss arising from the preparation or consumption of food made with the aid of the Application. You use the Application and prepare cured foods entirely at your own risk.
2. Use of the Application
The Application is available in two versions:
- Free Version with basic features.
- Premium Version with additional features available through a subscription or one-time purchase.
The Application is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to use the Application for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms.
3. Subscriptions and Purchases
- The Premium Version offers additional features available through a subscription or a one-time (lifetime) purchase.
- Subscriptions are billed periodically (e.g., monthly or annually) as specified at the time of purchase, and renew automatically unless cancelled.
- Payments are processed through third-party platforms such as Google Play and the Apple App Store. By making a purchase, you agree to abide by the terms of these platforms.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable; refunds are handled by the platform under its own policies.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights to the Application, including its design, functionality, guides, and content, belong to mordanSoft. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Application for its intended purpose.
You are prohibited from:
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Application.
- Using the Application to create derivative works.
- Copying, distributing, or using the Application or its content without prior written consent from mordanSoft.
5. Third-Party Services
The Application may use or integrate third-party services (e.g., Google Play Services, Apple App Store Services, and subscription and analytics providers) to enhance functionality. These services are subject to their own terms of use and privacy policies, and mordanSoft is not responsible for their content or performance.
6. Log Data and Analytics
The Application may collect log data and usage statistics to improve performance and user experience. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details on data collection.
7. User Responsibilities
By using the Application, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information (such as meat weights) when using the Application's tools.
- Use the Application in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Follow safe food-handling practices and the guidance in Section 1.
- Refrain from actions that may harm the Application, its users, or mordanSoft.
8. Termination of Access
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the Application at any time without notice or explanation.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Application is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, mordanSoft shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Application, including direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and including any matter described in Section 1.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the Application or on our official website. Continued use of the Application after such changes signifies your agreement to the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ukraine.
Before resorting to litigation, the parties agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes through negotiation.
12. Data Storage
SaltCure stores your batches and recipes locally on your device. Where optional backup or export features are used, we make reasonable efforts to ensure data security but cannot guarantee absolute protection from loss, failures, or unauthorized access.
You agree that data storage is at your own risk, and mordanSoft is not responsible for data loss except as required by law.
